Adventure Time Dvd:Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus/Nestor The Christmas Donkey

"Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" is a great Christmas story, especially for those viewers tired of the conventional Christmas specials. This features a bizarre cast of characters and settings that sets it apart from the other stop-action videos of the '70s-'80s. Notably, this story lacks the "redemption" angle that usually saves the bad guys from themselves.

If you're looking for a comprehensive holiday collection of DVDs, this should be in it. It's unique enough that it will be worth one or two holiday viewings, and I think most kids will enjoy it, again, because it's something much different.

The transfer is weak, however. We watched on a 42-inch, 1080p HD TV, from a Blu-Ray player (it's not a blu-ray disk, though). The transfer has some noticeably hazy and grainy parts - some worse than others. None are so bad that they seriously detract from enjoyment, but if you're used to perfect, blu-ray quality, you will notice the difference.

The story does compensate for this lack of quality - especially if you view it with your expectations of the video quality at a proper level.
